Azul Restaurant
An Immersive Journey Through Tropical Luxury.
Azul Restaurant was conceived as more than a place to dine. It was envisioned as a destination where architecture, hospitality, entertainment, and design converge to create an unforgettable experience. Located in the heart of Condado, directly across from the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Azul is positioned within one of Puerto Rico's most vibrant neighborhoods, where tourists, professionals, and locals intersect. From the moment guests arrive, they are invited into a world that reveals itself gradually, unfolding as a carefully choreographed journey from arrival to departure.
The Vision.
The project transformed an existing building through a complete interior demolition and reconstruction. Our team led every aspect of the design, creating a fully integrated vision that encompassed architecture, space planning, interior design, custom millwork, furniture design, lighting, decorative installations, material selection, and finish detailing. Every custom element was designed specifically for the project, every piece of furniture thoughtfully specified, and even the fabrics and upholstery were individually selected to reinforce the overall design narrative. This comprehensive approach allowed us to shape every touchpoint of the guest experience, ensuring that architecture, interiors, and entertainment function together as one cohesive composition.
Rather than creating a single destination within the building, the design was guided by the idea of progression. Every space introduces a new atmosphere, inviting guests to discover a different mood, energy, and perspective as they move through the two-story venue. Each transition was intentionally crafted to build anticipation, making the journey through Azul as memorable as the destination itself.
The Arrival.
The arrival experience was designed to establish Azul as a recognizable destination within the vibrant streetscape of Condado. Bold illuminated branding, warm timber architecture, and layered tropical landscaping create a distinctive identity that immediately sets the restaurant apart.
The open, transparent façade reveals the energy of the dining spaces within, while the lively rooftop terrace and blue vapor feature surrounding the iconic Azul sign offer a glimpse of the vibrant experience waiting beyond the entrance. Richly textured materials, warm architectural lighting, and a balanced palette of natural wood and vibrant blue accents create a memorable presence from day into night.
Every element of the exterior was carefully composed to blur the boundary between the street and the restaurant, creating a welcoming sense of openness while building anticipation for the sequence of spaces that unfolds inside.
The Boho Lounge.
Stepping through the entrance, guests are welcomed into the Boho Lounge, the brightest and most relaxed environment within Azul. Bathed in natural daylight during brunch service and transformed by warm ambient lighting after sunset, the space offers an inviting introduction to the restaurant.
At its center sits the interactive mixologist bar, where handcrafted cocktails become a performance in themselves. Every drink is thoughtfully prepared with a sense of theater, establishing an energetic first impression that immediately immerses guests in the Azul experience.
Natural textures, tropical planting, handcrafted materials, and warm finishes create an atmosphere that feels effortless, welcoming, and sophisticated. Whether gathering for brunch or beginning an evening celebration, the Boho Lounge sets the tone for everything that follows. Twin curved staircases flank the mixologist bar, drawing guests toward the centerpiece of the restaurant.
The Safari Room
The Safari Room is the heart of Azul. Inspired by the glamour of classic cabaret and the vibrancy of tropical destinations, the room was designed as an immersive entertainment venue where dining, performance, and cocktail culture exist as one experience.
A central performance stage anchors the room while seamlessly integrating a showcase mixologist bar into its design. The venue comfortably accommodates everything from intimate acoustic performances to large musical ensembles, creating a dynamic environment that evolves throughout the evening.
Layered seating arrangements provide a variety of dining experiences, from intimate tables for two to larger social gatherings. Rich jewel tones, dramatic lighting, botanical installations, custom furnishings, and luxurious materials surround guests in an environment that feels theatrical, intimate, and unforgettable.
The Tropical Ascent.
As guests continue upward, the journey itself becomes an experience. The staircase to the second level transforms into an engaging floral passage, beautifully integrated by Treescapes- International Greenscapes, where cascading botanical installations surround visitors in a lush garden of color and texture.
Rather than serving as a simple circulation path, this transition intentionally separates the vibrant energy of the Safari Room from the more refined atmosphere awaiting above. It is a moment of pause, discovery, and anticipation.
The Verde Lounge.
Emerging from the floral passage, guests arrive in the Verde Lounge, an elevated cocktail lounge overlooking the excitement of the Safari Room below. Inspired by the tranquility of a lush rainforest, our team layered rich green tones, warm wood finishes, luxurious fabrics, dramatic planting, and carefully curated lighting to create an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and inviting.
While visually connected to the entertainment beneath, the environment encourages a slower pace, making it an ideal destination for pre-dinner cocktails, private events, or late-night conversation.
Plush lounge seating, private VIP alcoves, and panoramic views create an intimate retreat where guests can relax while remaining connected to the energy of the venue.
Every design element was carefully considered to establish a distinct identity for this level, offering a refined contrast to the vibrant atmosphere below.
One of the lounge's defining features is the immersive Rainforest Photo Nook, created by Treescapes- International Greenscapes. Designed as a true experiential installation, mirrored walls dissolve the boundaries of the space while dense tropical foliage, natural stone, moss-covered groundcover, and concealed uplighting recreate the feeling of stepping into an endless rainforest.
The installation has become one of the restaurant's most memorable destinations, inviting guests to pause, explore, and capture an unforgettable experience that naturally encourages social sharing and extends the Azul experience beyond the restaurant itself.
The Rooftop Cabana.
Flowing seamlessly from the Verde Lounge, the Rooftop Cabana opens to the tropical breeze and vibrant surroundings of Condado, offering guests an inviting open-air escape. Designed as a natural extension of the interior experience, our team created a sophisticated rooftop environment that embraces Puerto Rico's outdoor lifestyle while providing yet another distinct atmosphere within Azul.
Warm wood pergolas, lush tropical landscaping, layered architectural lighting, and comfortable lounge seating create a series of intimate gathering spaces that encourage guests to relax, socialize, and linger. Carefully arranged seating areas offer a sense of privacy while maintaining an energetic connection to the surrounding rooftop, creating an environment that feels both vibrant and serene.
Flamingo pink accents, atmospheric vapor fire features, and dedicated spaces for live acoustic performances further enrich the experience, allowing the rooftop to effortlessly transition from a casual daytime retreat to a lively evening destination.
Whether gathering with friends over handcrafted cocktails, enjoying live music beneath the warm Caribbean sky, or simply taking in the beautiful atmosphere of Condado, the Rooftop Cabana offers guests another unique setting to experience Azul, reinforcing the restaurant's vision of creating multiple immersive environments, each with its own distinctive character and sense of place.

Guided by this philosophy, even the restrooms at Azul were conceived as immersive extensions of the overall experience rather than simply functional necessities.
Rich wallcoverings, dramatic black and gold finishes, custom lighting, and meticulously crafted materials continue the design narrative, ensuring that the same level of sophistication, craftsmanship, and attention to detail found throughout the restaurant is carried into every corner of the guest experience.
A Destination Unlike Any Other.
Every moment within Azul was intentionally choreographed to evoke a distinct emotional response. Bright, welcoming spaces gradually transition into intimate lounges. Tropical landscapes give way to theatrical entertainment. Social gathering spaces become secluded retreats before opening once again to the rooftop beneath the Caribbean sky.
Architecture does more than define the building. It shapes the experience.
Completed in July 2026, Azul Restaurant represents our belief that exceptional hospitality environments are created when architecture, interior design, lighting, furniture, and guest experience are conceived as one unified vision. Through a comprehensive design process that touched every element of the project, our team transformed an existing building into an immersive destination where every space tells its own story while contributing to a larger narrative of discovery, celebration, and tropical luxury.
More than a restaurant, Azul is an experience. It stands as a new perspective for hospitality design in Puerto Rico, demonstrating how thoughtful architecture and meticulously crafted interiors can create lasting memories long after the evening has ended.
